Got My Freetress Equal Gala Wig!

Yes gaaawd!

This is technically a Protective Style File! Gala came in the mail Tuesday. I ordered it from www.divatress.com on Thursday night, so it only took 3 business days.

They sent a gift with a 10% off coupon code for signing up with their site. So, I think it's safe to say Divatress has my loyalty as a customer. Now... the unboxing! Note: Click images to view larger.

Now, lets cut to the review.

Pros:

Softest synthetic wig eeeeever! No, I need to repeat that cuz I don't think you heard me. I don't think you understand. Softest. Synthetic. Wig. Ever! People say in, "Yeah, it's soft." so passively in YouTube reviews, but I'm here to tell you that futura fiber is where it's at.

Next pro, you can curl or flat iron this unit. I saw a few people on YouTube who said you can't. I don't know what they were doing wrong but I was able to curl it and flat iron easily. I was amazed by how well it took the heat of the flat iron which none of my other wigs can take.

I suggest curling it on a low setting though because that could be the reason why some people are having issues. Just because it says it can take up to 400 degrees does not mean you have to set your iron to 375 to curl it. Straight hair does not need that kind of heat to curl it (I know a lot of African textured haired women don't understand that.) and synthetic hair really doesn't need that. In fact it could work against you. Try to stay under 250.

Another plus about this wig is the versatile bang. I love, love, love it! And I was worried that it might be too long for my style, but it's so glamorous yet can be simple.

I also was worried it would not have enough volume on the sides because I don't look great with flat hair. However, this wig does just what I want it to do and that is frame my face with volume (with the option to smooth it out).

What personally like about the wig (that others may not.) is the skin top. I didn't realize until later that it's looong! It's 3 whole inches! No worries of people seeing tracks on the top of your head. It's all scalp which looks more realistic to me. Just my thoughts.

Cons:

I don't like how the skin part stops a little over a half of an inch from the hairline turning into tracks sowed to the band. They should have brought it all the way down.

A bit cony in the top. I'll have to turn it upside down on the mannequin head and maybe add weight. Just a little.

A con for some but not for me (because I think they can be damaging if used too much) is that it doesn't have combs at all.

One last minor con is that I have to get use to the inner band going around the edge. It is a tiny bit irritating but that could be because I used the inner straps.
